Make up Game Policy

Our goal at Niagara Rec Sports is to make sure that all teams have equal opportunities to play all of their games.  We want nothing more than to have all games played on their regular schedule date and time.  Due to circumstances out of our control such as weather, there are times games can not be played on their regular scheduled date & time.   Niagara Rec Sports will do our best to provide make up games for these situations.

Due to the fact that most of our leagues are at full capacity, and there is a lack of field, diamond, court, referee and umpire availability our make up games will typically have to be played on a weekend. We understand that this may be difficult for teams to attend and therefore we try to give at least 1-2 weeks notice as well as encourage teams to add players to their roster to make sure they are able to play.

When games are rained out, we normally have many teams in various leagues we need to reschedule for.  In the past we have tried to contact each team and ask what date/time is best for them.  We found when doing this, if we ask a 10 teams (for instance) we get 10 different dates & times.  We are then forced to pick a day that only works for some teams and not for others which could be perceived as favoritism.

Due to the above, the league will select a day for the make up games and post a schedule min 1 week in advance when possible, if we are getting close to playoffs or are in playoffs the rescheduled games will most likely be on the weekend of the rained out game.  If a team is unable to make their rescheduled game, we still require teams to give us a minimum of 24 hours so we can notify the opposing team of the forfeit. If less than 24 hours is given there will be a $50.00 fine.
