Ultimate Frisbee Rules

Ultimate Frisbee is the first and only Coed Adult Sport League Niagara Rec Sports offers that does not have referees.  There will be a coordinator at each game to settle any potential game disputes but Niagara Rec Sports will respect the “Spirit of the Game” and expects our players to do so as well.

The very nature of Ultimate Frisbee is based on “the spirit of the game” which puts Sportsmanship and respect first and foremost.  From the official rules established by the ultimate players association.

“Spirit of the Game. Ultimate relies upon a spirit of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play. Protection of these vital elements serves to eliminate unsportsmanlike conduct from the Ultimate field. Such actions as taunting opposing players, dangerous aggression, belligerent intimidation, intentional infractions, or other ‘win-at-all-costs’ behaviour are contrary to the Spirit of the Game and must be avoided by all players.”

Spirit of the Game sets Ultimate apart from other competitive team sports. For over 30 years, Ultimate has flourished, reaching a highly competitive level, without the use of referees.  Niagara Rec Sports is looking to keep the true spirit of the game and expects all players to do the same.

Come out and play some Coed Adult Ultimate Frisbee with Niagara Rec Sports.
